Dear Friends of Steltman Galleries,
It is 38 years since Steltman Galleries
was founded. And from its beginnings as a small gallery dealing in mainly
Dutch artists, it has emerged as the center and publishing house of the
works of Michael Parkes and Borek Sipek.
In 1970 the gallery opened its doors at the foot of the Westerkerk in the
old center of Amsterdam. Artists: Salvador Dali, Paul Citroen, Aat Veldhoen, Paul Wunderlich,
Bruno Bruni, Piero Fassoni, Leonor Fini, Felicien Rops and Michael Parkes
were among those with one man shows in the early years. In 1988 the gallery
moved
its premises to the Spuistraat, the hart
of the artistic center of Amsterdam. Important exhibitions: Michael Parkes,
Massimo Rao, Borek Sipek, Erwin Olaf, Jan Saudek, Jock Sturges a.o.. In
2005, the main gallery moved to the "Prinsengracht 799" in Amsterdam.
Starting in 1985 most of the Steltman Galleries limited edition stone lithographs
and other publications of
Michael Parkes were distributed and sold in the USA. Then in 1995, a branch was set-up in the Fuller Building on 57 St and Madison Av in New York. In 2002, the NY gallery moved to Santa Fe, closer to the West Coast where most of the US clients reside.
Friends, collectors and art lovers come
together to few the new acquisitions and the collection of Parkes and Sipek
and the paintings of the young Italian painter Giovanni Tommasi Ferroni.
Presently a major part of the sales is made through the internet. Our websites
www.michaelparkes.com,
www.sipek.com,
www.steltman.com
and www.tommasiferroni.com
are drawing a large number of visitors.
Thank you for your confidence and loyalty - in the past as in the future.
Yours, Gerrit Steltman
